KEY:
| 1 Cold water supply | |
3 Boiler | |
5 Pump | |
7 Solar panels |
| 2 Storage tank | |
4 Hot water taps | |
6 Controller |
As in your current setup,
Water from the mains supply (1) enters the hot water tank (2) and is stored until it reaches a usable
temperature, delivery pressure at your taps (4) will be far greater than usual as long as you have
a good mains pressure.
A pump (5) operated by the controller (6) circulates fluid through pipework up to and from the solar panels
on your roof (7) heating the tank (2)
On overcast days or in times of high demand for hot water your conventional boiler (3) would only light
during its normal programmed times to make up any shortfall for your hot water requirements.
Its very simple but if you are still a bit unclear then please have a read of our

The next step -
You will need to have a "suitability survey" carried out by one of our authorised engineers.
They will then be able to explain what will need to be done to your existing system and the optimum
number of solar panels required.
