KEY:
| 1 Cold water supply | |
3 Hot water taps | |
5 Storage tank | |
7 Solar panels |
| 2 Boiler | |
4 Controller | |
6 Pump |
Water from the mains supply (1) enters the hot water tank (5) and is stored until it reaches a usable
temperature for delivery at your taps (3)
A pump (6) operated by the controller (4) circulates fluid through pipework up to and from the solar panels
on your roof (7) heating the tank (5)
Normally water would bypass your combination boiler as long as it is up to the required temperature on
overcast days or in times of high demand for hot water your combi boiler (2) would light to make up
any shortfall for your hot water requirements.

The next step -
You will need to have a "suitability survey" carried out by one of our authorised engineers.
They will then be able to explain what will need to be done to your existing system and the optimum
number of solar panels required.
